For many years, Khanh Son has been known as the capital of fruit trees with high economic value. With 4,911 hectares of agricultural land, of which 3,941 hectares are planted with perennial trees, of which 3,308 hectares are fruit trees with high economic value, including: 2,600 hectares of durian, 349 hectares of green-skinned grapefruit, 38 hectares of tangerines, 51 hectares of rambutan and other fruit trees.

Typically, in Son Binh commune, over the past years, the locality has focused on developing fruit trees with high economic value. The whole commune currently has 490 hectares of durian, 8 hectares of mangosteen, 68 hectares of green-skinned grapefruit and many other fruit tree areas. The commune government has promoted and mobilized farmers to apply clean production solutions, meeting VietGAP standards. Fruit trees with high economic value have been focused on by local people, strengthening production and consumption links. Since then, a part of ethnic minorities have increased their income, striving to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
Like Mr. Cao Dam's family in Son Binh commune, Khanh Son district, since 2009, with the support and guidance of the district's Department of Agriculture, his family began to switch from coffee trees to growing durian intercropped with grapefruit and jackfruit. Up to now, on an area of 5 hectares with 300 durian trees, 200 grapefruit trees, 50 jackfruit trees, his family has an income of about 700 million VND/year.

Support from National Target Program 1719
In Khanh Vinh district - the largest green-skin pomelo growing area in Khanh Hoa province with more than 600 hectares, an average yield of 8 tons/ha, each year, the district supplies about 4,000 tons of green-skin pomelo to the market. In the district, many pomelo growing cooperatives have been formed with the participation of ethnic minority households. The most prominent is Hieu Linh Cooperative in Khanh Thanh commune. Not only creating regular jobs for 14 ethnic minority workers with an average income of 5 - 6 million VND/person/month, the Cooperative also cooperates in production with more than 20 pomelo growing households in the area, providing seedlings, materials, standard cultivation processes and purchasing all pomelo products for the people.
In particular, with resources from the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030; Phase I; from 2021 - 2025 (National Target Program 1719), in 2024, Khanh Vinh district is implementing contents to support production development according to the value chain, promote business start-ups, start-ups and attract investment in ethnic minority and mountainous areas throughout the district. Accordingly, 1 training course on start-ups and business start-ups was organized for ethnic minorities, business households, enterprises, cooperatives and 1 training course to improve management capacity, value chain management, capacity to find and expand product consumption markets.
According to Ms. Huynh Cong Thi Thuy Trang - Deputy Head of the Economic and Infrastructure Department of Khanh Vinh district, to continue implementing the National Target Program 1719 in 2024, the district is synthesizing and appraising the dossiers of localities to promote the disbursement of capital sources of the program. Thereby, promoting business start-ups, startups and attracting investment in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in 2024.
Khanh Hoa province currently has 81 agricultural product chain links; many enterprises and cooperatives have participated in linking production and consumption of products according to the value chain, gradually building brands and increasing product value in the market, bringing about effective production organization in agriculture and rural areas. In particular, many cooperatives and chains in agricultural production areas focus on commodities, such as: green-skinned grapefruit, durian, rice, livestock, etc.
