At the end of the year, the demand for vegetables and tubers increases quite high. To ensure stable output and income, many businesses, cooperatives and farmers have promoted linkages to create agricultural value chains.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Director of Quang Phu Organic Agricultural and Forestry Production Cooperative, Krong No district, the unit has cooperated with a number of groups and individuals to build clean vegetable value chains such as cabbage, radish, cabbage, etc.

Currently, the cooperative is maintaining the production of 2 hectares of vegetables in Quang Son commune, Dak Glong district. Ms. Mai said that the cooperative will guide and support people in stages such as seeds, techniques and output consumption for the people.

However, the farming process must meet the criteria of hygiene, food safety, and safe, organic production.

On average, 1 hectare of land for growing cabbage, after about 60 days of planting, yields about 20 tons, with a price of 8 million VND/ton, each hectare yields about 160 million VND.

After deducting expenses, the profit is at least 80 million VND. The cooperative will rotate vegetables and tubers to prevent diseases and diversify products.

The cabbage cultivation process of Quang Phu organic agricultural and forestry production cooperative, Krong No district focuses on criteria of hygiene, food safety, safety, and organicity.

The cooperative has been granted a certificate of food safety qualified facility; organic certificate; 4-star OCOP. The cooperative's products are available in many supermarkets and convenience stores in the country. This is a favorable premise for the cooperative to expand its connections, increase the scale and variety of goods.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Glong district, the whole district currently has about 800 hectares of leafy vegetables, root vegetables, and fruits of all kinds. The green vegetable area is mainly concentrated in the communes of Dak Ha, Quang Son, and Quang Khe.

The good news is that the area of vegetables with links and cooperation has increased, currently reaching over 100 hectares of vegetables and tubers with quite stable links, purchasing with wholesale markets, supermarkets, and businesses nationwide.

The vegetable area of Dak Glong district, Dak Nong province currently reaches about 800 hectares/year.

In Nghia Tan Ward, Gia Nghia City, in October 2024, Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan planted 1 hectare of eggplant, an increase of 0.5 hectare compared to 2023. The entire expected output of about 70 tons has been contracted to be purchased by a local business at a price of 6,000 - 10,000 VND/kg depending on the type.

He said that with this price, farmers have made a profit of about half of the total investment cost. This is thanks to his persistent application of food safety farming processes for many years.

Dak Nong currently has about 8,000 hectares of vegetables. According to records, in recent years, the associated vegetable industry has increasingly attracted the attention of people for development.

By early 2024, the province will have only 6 stable, large-scale linkages, with an area of nearly 200 hectares. Compared to the total harvest output, the new linkage output accounts for about 10%.

Therefore, the functional sectors, organizations and localities of Dak Nong province are stepping up the search and support for people and businesses inside and outside the province to build and expand connections.

Dak Nong Agriculture Department believes that by the end of 2024, the number of linkages and the scale of linkages will both increase. In particular, in addition to scale, product quality is especially important.

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Vui, Head of Dak Nong Agricultural Development Department, in recent years, people have promoted the application of integrated pest management (IPM) measures on short-term vegetable and bean crops.

People regularly clean their fields, choose healthy varieties with good resistance to pests and diseases, clear origin, and apply balanced and reasonable fertilizers.

The process of growing organic and safe vegetables and tubers is increasingly being applied by Dak Nong people.

Farmers promote biological measures and limit the use of chemical drugs. When using drugs, farmers carefully consider the 4 right principles: right time, right way, right dosage, right drug.

This has helped the province's short-term agricultural products increasingly meet technical, hygiene and safety standards, better meeting the needs of domestic consumers and serving exports.
