According to information from Lieutenant General To An Xo, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Security, on March 8, after the Supreme People's Procuracy approved the decisions to prosecute the accused, arrest the accused for temporary detention and issue search warrants for 9 accused, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency organized the implementation in accordance with legal regulations.

Among the 9 defendants mentioned above, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Lan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Vinh Phuc province and Mr. Le Duy Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province were prosecuted and temporarily detained for the crime of "Receiving bribes", stipulated in Clause 4, Article 354 of the Penal Code.

As informed by the Ministry of Public Security, the implementation of decisions and search warrants against the defendants Hoang Thi Thuy Lan and Le Duy Thanh was carried out in accordance with legal regulations.

Previously, according to VietNamNet reporters , from about 12:00 to 14:50 this afternoon, many forces, including traffic police, set up barricades and temporarily blocked off the Chien street area, where the private home of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Thi Thuy Lan is located.

At the same time, the police force also set up barricades, restricting access to the area of ​​Pham Hong Thai Street (Vinh Yen City), where the private residence of Mr. Le Duy Thanh, Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee, is located.

People were informed to move to another direction because there were authorities on duty. Many traffic police were on duty to direct traffic.
