Of the 1,030 cooperatives in Ha Tinh, only 128 units are classified as good and 263 units are classified as fair.
The province currently has 1,030 production and business cooperatives in many fields with 73,118 members, of which 935 are operating and 95 have ceased operations. According to the review, of the 935 operating cooperatives, 22 are newly established (not yet reviewed and evaluated according to regulations).

The results of the classification and assessment of the performance of specialized sectors show that, as of August 15, 2023, the whole province has 128 cooperatives operating well, accounting for 12.4%, 263 cooperatives operating quite well, accounting for 25.5%, 364 cooperatives operating averagely, accounting for 35.4% and 158 cooperatives operating poorly, accounting for 15.4%, 22 newly established cooperatives, accounting for 2.1% and 95 cooperatives ceasing operations, accounting for 9.2%. These figures show that the rate of cooperatives operating effectively is still modest.
The collective economic sector in Ha Tinh still has many shortcomings and limitations such as: weak management, operation and financial capacity, small scale of operation of cooperatives; many cooperatives are reluctant to access, digitally transform, and apply information technology in management and operation; many units still have difficulties in receiving and applying science and technology in production and product consumption.
At the same time, propaganda work on collective economy, cooperatives, and State management of the collective economy still has limitations; cooperative activities in many localities have not really received attention...
In order for the collective economic sector and cooperatives to develop commensurate with their potential, these units themselves need to continue to innovate their thinking and create creative ways of doing things; improve their capacity, apply science and technology, information technology, and digital transformation; fully implement the nature of the collective economy in organizing, developing members, and contributing efforts and capital for development.
The Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association and the Cooperative Alliance of Ha Tinh province signed a memorandum of cooperation on trade and investment cooperation (June 2023).
In addition, Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations at all levels continue to advise and organize the implementation of policies to actively support the collective economy; continue to review, classify, evaluate and resolutely dissolve weak cooperatives or cooperatives that have been inactive for a long time.
Further promote the role of the Provincial Cooperative Union in propaganda, training, and capacity building for cooperatives in business administration, information technology, and digital transformation; create conditions for cooperatives to access land and capital from the Cooperative Development Support Fund and commercial banks. Promote trade promotion, organize trade conferences to link product consumption; sign contracts to supply provincial products to supermarket systems and e-commerce platforms nationwide.
Departments, branches and localities also need to pay attention to and increase specialized training, creating conditions for cooperatives to visit typical models with good results in other provinces and cities to draw out ways of doing things and directions at the grassroots level...
