Thien Long Cave is a beautiful, mysterious cave located in the limestone cave complex on Cat Ba archipelago (Cat Hai district). It has not yet been exploited by Hai Phong to serve tourists, so very few people know about it.
Stalactites of various shapes were created over millions of years inside Thien Long Cave.

In 2000, Thien Long Cave was discovered by local people in the limestone mountain called Linh Quy. Therefore, Thien Long Cave is also known by another name, Khau Quy Cave.
According to Phu Long commune residents, in addition to possessing a paradise-like landscape, Thien Long Cave is also a place that preserves traces of ancient people's lives. This place was also once a hideout for pirate gangs...

Linh Quy Mountain is about 2 km from Cai Vieng ferry terminal as the crow flies, towards Ha Long Bay.
On the journey from the mainland to Cat Ba Island, after crossing the Dong Bai - Cai Vieng ferry, visitors get on a local motorboat, go down Phu Long creek for about 2 km and walk on a small dirt road through the immense green mangrove forest with two endemic tree species, the mangrove and the parrot tree, to reach the cave entrance.
The cave entrance is very small, partly covered by forest trees.

The entrance to Thien Long Cave is small and partially hidden by trees. However, when entering the cave, visitors are overwhelmed by a large space with layers upon layers of stalactites in many strange shapes, connected like a maze, challenging tourists to explore.
Through the cave entrance into the cave is an ancient tomb that was worshiped by local people after Thien Long cave was discovered in 2000.

Talking to Thanh Nien reporter , Chairman of Cat Hai District People's Committee Bui Van Manh said that currently, on Cat Ba archipelago , there are still many beautiful places and landscapes that have not been exploited to serve the tourism economy, including Thien Long cave.
In the coming time, Cat Hai district will develop a plan to open an eco-tour including: sightseeing, experiencing, exploring the primeval mangrove forest combined with exploring Thien Long cave.

According to Mr. Manh, after Thien Long Cave was discovered in 2000, some local people used generators to light up and make steps inside the cave to serve visitors, but after a short time, they stopped operating.
