On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), Nhan Dan Newspaper organized a Special Information Session on the event with elaborate, methodical and thorough preparation for nearly half a year, starting with the launch of the Dien Bien Phu Victory website (at dienbienphu.nhandan.vn) on March 13. The highlight of the Special Information Session on Dien Bien Phu Victory is that the daily issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper on May 7, 2024 has 12 additional pages of special information, including 4 pages of content, 4 pages summarizing the progress of 56 days and nights of the campaign in the form of a diary in Vietnamese and English and 4 pages printing the entire panorama of "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" with more than 4,500 characters currently on display at the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh spoke at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: “The launch of an online special page with the idea of following the campaign progress throughout 56 days is a unique creation. However, we are still not satisfied because the daily printed newspaper is the core product of Nhan Dan Newspaper. The idea of a special page and a printed panorama came later, but we also want to create more surprises for readers by integrating interactive features to experience expanded content.”
Readers can cut out pages of the special issue of Nhan Dan newspaper, combine them into a panorama of “Chien Canh Dien Bien Phu” measuring 3.21m (a record for a printed newspaper product) and hang it in their living room or public place, or take photos to check-in on social networks with the hashtags #chienthangdienbienphu #dienbienphu. Technology enthusiasts can experience the interaction by using their phones to scan QR codes on the picture or download the application to view moving images using augmented reality (AR) technology.
Along with special press products, Nhan Dan Newspaper decided to put the printed panorama into an exhibition so that even those who do not have the Nhan Dan newspaper issue dated May 7, 2024 can have the opportunity to experience the same thing. The interactive panorama exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory opened on the afternoon of May 6, 2024 at two locations: Nhan Dan Newspaper Headquarters - 71 Hang Trong, Hanoi and Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum, Dien Bien Phu City, Dien Bien Province. The exhibition is open to the public from 9am to 5pm from May 7, 2024 to May 12, 2024.

Painter Luong Xuan Doan shares his feelings at the exhibition.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh shared: “From now until May 12, for the first time, Nhan Dan Newspaper will open its doors to the public for free to visit the interactive panorama exhibition. We expect that this exhibition will help the audience not only have the opportunity to see impressive images but also interact with the images, read more information about the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. This will be an opportunity for people to understand more about the glorious history of the country. We hope that through this exhibition as well as other events and activities of the press on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, students will understand more about the history of the country and look forward to good things in the future”.
Visitors can admire the panorama surrounding a circle with a diameter of 5.5 meters and a height of more than 3 meters and experience augmented reality technology with a 360-degree panorama model. On the opening day of the exhibition, Nhan Dan Newspaper presented a special supplement commemorating the Dien Bien Phu Victory to visitors at both exhibition locations in Hanoi and Dien Bien.
“We realize that this is an effort for innovation but also the responsibility of the leading Party newspaper of Vietnam's revolutionary press in propagating important events of the country,” said comrade Le Quoc Minh.

Attending the exhibition, many delegates were impressed when seeing the painting "Dien Bien Phu Campaign" presented in a new, modern form. Artist Luong Xuan Doan said that this is a special gift from Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Lieutenant Colonel Dam Dinh Hoa, representative of the Propaganda Department, Vietnam People's Army, said that the panorama exhibition is a creation of Nhan Dan Newspaper in contributing to spreading the meanings and values of the historic Dien Bien Phu Victory to all people, especially the youth.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors, including international guests. Ms. Natasha (French) just arrived in Vietnam yesterday and Hoan Kiem Lake was the first destination of her family. When she heard about the panorama exhibition about the Dien Bien Phu victory at Nhan Dan Newspaper, she was eager to visit.
“I am very impressed with the way Nhan Dan Newspaper organized the exhibition introducing the Dien Bien Phu campaign. This is an event that the whole world knows and we French people understand quite well, but the way the exhibition is presented is very new, intuitive and modern. I think the exhibition will attract a lot of visitors, including foreign visitors,” said Ms. Natasha.
