Opening Ceremony of Techfest Edu 2024

On the afternoon of August 20th, in Hue City, Hue University hosted the Techfest Edu 2024 event. This is the first Techfest program in the education sector aimed at promoting the innovation and startup ecosystem in universities and colleges.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, delivered the opening speech at Techfest Edu 2024.

According to the Organizing Committee, Techfest Edu 2024 is an important forum to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in universities and colleges nationwide. The event brings together more than 100 school leaders, experts, investors, startups, and other stakeholders to discuss, share experiences, and seek solutions to build and develop a sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

In his opening remarks, Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, Director of Hue University, stated that in 2019, Hue University was entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Training with the task of piloting the development of an innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem within universities, along with two other institutions: Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. This is not only an honor but also a great responsibility, demonstrating the Ministry of Education and Training's trust in Hue University's pioneering role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in the North Central and Central Coastal regions.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Le Anh Phuong, the Party and State's policies and orientations on developing the innovation and startup ecosystem have been clearly demonstrated through important resolutions and projects. The Ministry of Science and Technology has actively supported Hue University through Project 844, making a significant contribution to the implementation of activities to build the ecosystem, from training and incubation to networking and supporting startups.

Since initiating its innovative startup activities, Hue University has continuously strived to build and develop its ecosystem. Hundreds of events and training courses have been organized, bringing innovative entrepreneurship to tens of thousands of students, lecturers, and entrepreneurs. Thousands of startup ideas and projects have been supported, contributing to the creation of new products and services that bring value to society.

The Conference of Innovation Leaders of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges took place within the framework of Techfest Edu 2024.

This year's Techfest Edu 2024 event, with its diverse and enriching activities, will be an opportunity for colleges and universities to exchange, learn, and share valuable experiences in developing an innovative startup ecosystem, thereby creating new breakthroughs for the "nurturing of human resources" endeavor.

Taking place over two days, August 20th and 21st, Techfest Edu 2024 will feature key activities such as: a conference for innovation leaders from Vietnamese universities and colleges, focusing on discussing models, methods, and solutions for building an innovation and startup ecosystem; a Demo Day providing opportunities for startup projects to showcase their ideas and products to investors, investment funds, and the startup community; and a Sharkshow – inspiring young people with entrepreneurial aspirations through success stories and insights from renowned entrepreneurs and investors.

Techfest Edu 2024 showcases science, technology, and innovative startup products from universities and colleges.

Additionally, the event will include an exhibition of scientific, technological, and innovative startup products from universities, colleges, and startup businesses; a job fair in the tourism sector; and a performance by student music groups.
