Opening of the 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival

On the evening of December 14, at the Quang Tri Provincial Cultural - Cinema Center (Dong Ha city), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province to organize the opening ceremony of the 2024 Vietnam Ethnic Culture Festival. The festival gathered 16 participating provinces and cities including: Bac Giang , Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Hue, Vinh Phuc and Quang Tri.

The 2024 Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Festival in Quang Tri province will take place from December 13 to 16 with the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups: Equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world".

The festival has the participation of artisans, actors, and athletes of various ethnic groups - cultural subjects from many regions of the country.

Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized: With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic groups - Equality, solidarity, respect, integration and development for a peaceful world", the Festival aims to honor the good traditional cultural values, preserve and promote the cultural identity of Vietnamese ethnic minorities in the unified and diverse culture of the community of 54 ethnic groups.

Delegates from provinces with units participating in the cultural festival attended the opening ceremony.

With 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups formed and crystallized in the historical process of building and defending the country, those cultural values ​​have created a strong vitality, the glue that connects and makes up the strength of the Vietnamese people.

Besides common cultural values, each ethnic group has its own identity, which is born from historical traditions, natural landscapes, regions, living environments... from which, unique cultural values ​​are formed.

Such as language, costumes, cuisine, folk art, behavioral relationships, traditional beliefs and many other means of expression... contribute to creating a unified Vietnamese culture in diversity.

Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic groups is both a goal and a central, long-term task identified by our Party and State in all periods, especially in the context of innovation, integration, globalization and the scientific and technological revolution that is taking place strongly as it is today.
