Opening of international conference on rural tourism in Quang Nam

Attending the opening session were UN Tourism Deputy Secretary General - Ms. Zoritsa Urosevic; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong. On the Quang Nam side, there were alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet and other provincial leaders.

The conference was attended by 300 delegates from national and local management agencies of member countries, international organizations, the tourism community and the private sector. of about 50 countries and territories.

In his opening speech, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said that Quang Nam province is honored to be chosen by the Government leaders, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and UN Tourism as the host locality for this event.

This is the first global event of UN Tourism on rural tourism. The conference is a valuable opportunity for the province to continue promoting communication and promoting the image of “Quang Nam - Green tourism destination”. At the same time, it promotes close and effective cooperation between Vietnam tourism in general and Quang Nam in particular with UN Tourism and other countries, member organizations, and the best tourist villages of UN Tourism.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong hopes that with the sharing of tourism leaders, organizations, international and domestic experts at the conference, UN Tourism member countries in general and Vietnam in particular will have the opportunity to learn, raise awareness, orient vision and issue and implement policies and solutions for rural tourism development suitable to the conditions of each country.

Ms. Zoritsa Urosevic - Deputy Secretary-General of UN Tourism said that this event is not simply a meeting but an important milestone reflecting UN Tourism's strong commitment to prioritizing rural development as a foundation for global recovery and sustainable development, while promoting the empowerment of rural communities and promoting economic and social equity.
