Opening of the 8th Central Committee Standing Committee Conference

The 8th Central Committee Conference, 12th term, was chaired by Mr. Bui Quang Huy - First Secretary of the Central Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee.

Mr. Bui Quang Huy said that this conference will focus on discussing and giving opinions on the Youth Union and youth movement program in 2025, the set of criteria for evaluating the Youth Union and youth movement at the provincial level in 2025, and the draft contents summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution 25-NQ/TW and 10 years of implementing Conclusion 80-KL/TW to be submitted to the Politburo.

According to Mr. Huy, at the 7th Conference, term XII, the Central Standing Committee of the Youth Union discussed and gave opinions on the orientation of the Youth Union's work and youth movement in 2025 with the theme "Vietnamese youth are proud and firmly believe in the Party", associated with major and important events in 2025.

At the conference, Mr. Huy asked delegates to give their opinions on key tasks associated with the annual work theme, key targets closely following the term targets, the list of 54 major activities in 2025 and the set of criteria for evaluating the work of the Youth Union and the provincial youth movement in 2025.

"Regarding the draft set of criteria for evaluating the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement at the provincial level in 2025, Mr. Huy requested the Standing Committee to give opinions on the scoring conditions to ensure practicality, orientation, classification, and appropriate evidence.

Regarding the draft documents summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution 25-NQ/TW and 10 years of implementing Conclusion 80-KL/TW submitted to the Politburo, I request that comrades in the Standing Committee focus on giving comments based on practical experience in localities and units, especially investing in the draft conclusions of the Politburo," Mr. Huy requested.

Two key tasks

According to the report on building the Youth Union and youth movement program in 2025, there will be two key tasks.

Firstly, focus on implementing political and ideological education work, organizing peak activities to celebrate major holidays and important events in 2025, especially the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam; 50 years of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day; 135 years of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday; 80 years of the successful August Revolution and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; welcoming Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Second, organize emulation movements among young people, undertake and carry out youth projects and tasks to celebrate major national holidays, welcome Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Continue to promote the implementation of three breakthrough tasks of the entire Youth Union in the 2022 - 2027 term.
