Opening of the Fun Cup Mui Ne Open Windsurfing Tournament

BTO-On the morning of February 14, at Jibe's Beach Club, Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City, the Opening Ceremony of the 24th Fun Cup International Windsurfing Tournament in 2025 took place. Attending were Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Huynh Ngoc Tam, Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City People's Committee Nguyen Nam Long, along with related units, athletes and tourists.

Mr. Pascal Lefebre, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, delivered the opening speech.

This is an annual international windsurfing tournament held at the beginning of the new year, attracting a large number of local and international spectators to watch and cheer. With an expanded international scale, the Mui Ne Windsurfing Tournament targets male and female athletes (professional and amateur) from the country and internationally who are passionate about the sea sport of windsurfing. Participating in the Fun Cup International Windsurfing Tournament in 2025 are more than 20 male and female athletes from countries such as: Japan, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Russia, France, Germany, Poland, USA...

Athletes prepare sails for the competition

With the competition rules according to the World Windsurfing Association's Competition Rules, the athletes will compete in a speed race in the form of a salom distance of 3,600 meters (downwind) for both professional and amateur men and women. The athletes will be drawn into groups to compete, the top position will be selected to the next round to continue the competition to choose the champion for each event.

The Fun Cup International Windsurfing Tournament 2025 is an opportunity to promote the potential and strengths of Binh Thuan sea tourism and sports in particular and Vietnam in general to tourists around the world.
