Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Vice President, President of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; Nguyen Xuan Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Quang Ninh Provincial Buddhist Sangha.

This is one of the largest and longest festivals in the Northern region, attracting tens of thousands of monks, Buddhists and tourists to the sacred Buddhist land to worship and sightsee.

This year, the traditional Yen Tu Spring Festival was organized in a solemn, safe, healthy and economical manner, imbued with the national identity. The Yen Tu Spring Festival began with rituals such as: beating drums, ringing bells to open the festival, offering offerings, praying for national peace and prosperity, and stamping the sacred Yen Tu seal.

In addition to the solemn ceremony, this year's Yen Tu Spring Festival has special cultural activities such as: Lantern Festival Night; folk games, traditional art performances, exhibitions of paintings and photos to promote the values ​​and majestic and sacred beauty of Yen Tu, cuisine of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic group at the foot of Yen Tu mountain...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Tuan Dat, Chairman of the People's Committee of Uong Bi City, emphasized that Yen Tu is a sacred place, a blessed land of the country, a place associated with the name and great career of King Tran Nhan Tong and his great contributions to the country through two victories over the invading Yuan-Mongol invaders. Yen Tu is the cradle of Truc Lam Zen sect and King Tran Nhan Tong is the Buddha of Vietnam.

On the opening day of the festival, tens of thousands of tourists came here to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the peaceful fairyland and worship Buddha, pray for luck, and hope for a peaceful and prosperous new year. The Yen Tu Spring Festival in 2024 will last for 3 months.
