(PLVN) - The Central School of Training and Fostering of Industry and Trade Officials today, September 17, opened the course "Organizing training to become experts on the EVFTA Agreement and new generation FTAs. (basic course)" for management agencies, businesses and industry associations.
This is a basic course that provides basic knowledge about free trade agreements, especially EVFTA.
The training course aims to help management agencies, businesses and industry associations improve management capacity and promote international integration.
50 trainees are representatives of management agencies, enterprises, industry associations, institutes, schools, and centers in Hanoi and many other provinces and cities participating in the training course. Lecturers are experts from the Department of Multilateral Trade Policy, Department of Trade Defense - Ministry of Industry and Trade; Department of Intellectual Property (Ministry of Science and Technology); Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs) ...
Speaking at the training course, Mr. Nguyen Thien Nam - Principal of the Central School of Training and Fostering Industry and Trade Officials emphasized: "This is a training program with the goal of building a team of experts on new generation FTA Agreements for localities and enterprises. Thereby helping enterprises make the most of the benefits from implementing commitments in new generation FTA Agreements in the context of increasingly deep and wide economic integration".
Specifically, students will be updated with information and have a better understanding of the basic and core contents of the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs, including: Trade defense in EVFTA and new-generation FTAs (Trade defense regulations in EVFTA and new-generation FTAs for export products; Skills to analyze and assess trade defense risks for export products; How to handle trade defense risks; How to solve problems when export products are subject to trade defense measures; Common problems and how to handle them);
Vietnam's major policies and orientations on international economic integration, the situation of negotiations, signing and implementation of new-generation FTAs (Vietnam's major policies and orientations on international economic integration; The situation of negotiations, signing and implementation of Free Trade Agreements, especially new-generation FTAs, including the negotiation and effectiveness of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and Israel and the Protocol of the United Kingdom's accession to the CPTPP Agreement; Orientations and solutions to help businesses make the most of opportunities from Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in general and new-generation FTAs in particular; Practices in localities when implementing new-generation FTA commitments and ways of coordination to help improve the effectiveness of utilizing FTAs in the coming time);
Trade promotion to take advantage of the EVFTA and new generation FTAs (Current regulations and policies on trade promotion; Practical issues related to trade promotion and import and export to the EVFTA market and new generation FTAs; How to participate in domestic and foreign trade promotion activities; Instructions on applying the Macmap tool to access market data and MFN taxes of countries and territories; Skills to handle situations in domestic and international trade promotion activities);
Commitments and regulations on intellectual property in the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs (Protection of intellectual property rights in Vietnam under the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs and some things businesses need to note; Protection of intellectual property rights in some foreign markets with which Vietnam has signed FTAs; Implementation of Vietnam's intellectual property commitments in the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs of which Vietnam is a member; Common problems and how to handle problems arising related to intellectual property in Vietnam);
Labor issues in the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs (Labor commitments in the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs of which Vietnam is a member; Implementation status of Vietnam's labor commitments in the EVFTA and new-generation FTAs of which Vietnam is a member; New labor regulations of new-generation FTA partners; Guidance on how to develop a strategy to meet labor regulations in new-generation FTA markets; Common problems and how to handle them).
The training course will run until September 20, 2024 at the Red Scarf Hotel, Hanoi. Students will take the final exam and receive their certificates on the morning of September 21, 2024.
