Da Lat and Bangkok are at the top of the top 10 domestic and international destinations that Vietnamese tourists search for the most when booking rooms for their vacation during the upcoming September 2nd holiday.
Netherlands-based digital travel platform Booking.com has just announced the domestic and international destinations most searched by Vietnamese travelers for the upcoming National Day holiday. The data was recorded based on accommodation searches from August 31 to September 3 by Vietnamese travelers.
According to the data, Vietnamese tourists tend to choose experiences that satisfy both factors: relaxation and exploration. Da Lat continues to top the list of trending destinations during the September 2 holiday, thanks to its peaceful landscape and ancient French architecture. Sa Pa, a town in Lao Cai, is also named in the top 10 domestic destinations.

Da Nang, Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Hue… are beach destinations that continue to receive the attention and love of tourists who want to enjoy the summer sun. Phan Thiet entered the top 10 for the first time, partly due to the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway coming into operation, significantly shortening the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to the coastal city to about 2.5 hours.
The September 2 holiday lasts for 4 days, so Vietnamese tourists tend to prioritize short-term travel experiences, with international destinations in the Asia-Pacific region being the top choice. All 10 most searched international destinations are located in this region. Bangkok (Thailand) is the most searched city, followed by Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Taipei (Taiwan, China), Sydney (Australia), Bali (Indonesia), Chiang Mai (Thailand).
Mr. Varun Grover, Country Manager of Booking.com Vietnam, commented that the upcoming National Day holiday on September 2 is a great opportunity for families to enjoy memorable time together, before the new school year begins.
“The trend shows that Vietnamese tourists are looking for a domestic and international vacation that can combine a variety of experiences, from cultural exploration to relaxing at peaceful mountain resorts or enjoying sunny beaches,” Mr. Grover shared.
