Naoki Okamura (a freelance model and fitness trainer in Japan) came to Vietnam for tourism in mid-2024. He chose Ho Chi Minh City as his destination, spending time exploring the culture and life of local people as well as enjoying delicious street food.

In a recent video posted on YouTube, Naoki did not hesitate to share the reason why he loves Vietnam so much that he has visited it several times and still not gotten bored of it after a long time of experiencing it.

Naoki said that what impressed him most about Vietnam was the wifi coverage everywhere, which could even be used for free.

“Any restaurant or shop I go to has wifi, even the drink shops on the street. The interesting thing is that foreign guests can also experience this freely. Some places even print the wifi password for guests to use freely. This is very different from Japan,” Naoki shared with VietNamNet reporter.

According to him, free wifi is rare in Japan. Customers usually have to pay for it if they need it. Some convenience stores used to have wifi but later removed it. Now, there are only a few places that offer free wifi.

Japanese tourists admit to loving Vietnam because wifi is everywhere, even free.

“This was really beyond my imagination and it was only when I set foot in Vietnam that I believed that this country had such a widespread internet network.

Many Japanese people who have not been here will probably not know this. Indeed, Vietnam's wifi is number 1," Naoki expressed.

The Japanese tourist also revealed that the kindness of the Vietnamese people is also the reason why he loves the S-shaped land even more.

While walking from the gym to his apartment, Naoki saw an eyeglass store on Hoang Dieu Street (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City) so he decided to stop by to fix his broken sunglasses.

After only about 5 minutes of waiting, the shop owner announced that the repair was complete. Seeing this, Naoki went to get his glasses back, said thank you and asked how much it would cost to deposit. However, the shop owner waved his hand, shook his head and said there was no charge.

This surprised the Japanese customer. He kept asking the owner, "Are you sure?" and received nods of agreement.

Touched by the kindness of the glasses shop owner, Naoki even offered to send him a gift as a thank you. However, the shop owner firmly refused and said it was okay.

“He was really kind. I tried to pay him but he refused. I felt so happy, my glasses were fixed,” Naoki said emotionally.

The Japanese visitor also said that he had never experienced such a situation before, so he was a bit confused and embarrassed at first. This made him even more impressed and fond of the Vietnamese people.

“I am very grateful to him for fixing my glasses for free. The service of the shop is great. I will definitely come back and recommend this place to my friends,” the Japanese man expressed.
