Tourists to Sa Pa increase sharply after the biggest tourism stimulus program of the year

(Fatherland) - According to statistics from the Department of Tourism of Lao Cai province, the total number of tourists to Lao Cai in November reached 619,170 (international visitors were 66,653, domestic visitors were 552,517), an increase of 51% compared to October. Of which, Sa Pa town alone welcomed more than half of the total number of tourists to Lao Cai with about 392,800 visitors.

To attract tourists to Sa Pa at the end of the year, the People's Committee of Sa Pa Town coordinated with the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Association to organize a stimulus program from November 2 to December 30, 2024. This is Lao Cai's largest tourism stimulus program of the year with the participation of more than 130 businesses from accommodation establishments, restaurants and tourism services in Sa Pa.

Mr. Do Van Tan - Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee said that Sa Pa is one of the localities heavily affected by super typhoon Yagi. Immediately after the super typhoon, the top priority of Sa Pa town is to stabilize people's lives and restore production.

The Vice Chairman of Sa Pa Town People's Committee said that to develop tourism after super typhoon Yagi, Sa Pa Town and Lao Cai Province Tourism Association have agreed and proposed many solutions to stimulate demand and attract tourists back.

In addition to traditional tourism products, Sa Pa has deployed many new types and products of tourism such as experiential tourism, adventure tourism... Less than 1 month after super typhoon Yagi, Sa Pa successfully organized a bicycle race to conquer the highest artificial lake in Indochina, marking the rapid recovery of Sa Pa tourism after the storm.

Mr. Do Van Tan said that from now until the end of 2024, Sa Pa Town will continue to organize cultural and sports events to attract tourists to Sa Pa.

In particular, Sa Pa will organize the Cherry Blossom Festival taking place at O ​​Long tea hill (O Quy Ho); Festival at Ban May, Fansipan cable car station; International Mountain Marathon (from November 28 to December 1, 2024); Sports tourism activities to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of Sa Pa Party Committee; In particular, the New Year's Eve 2025 art night will bring a vibrant Tet atmosphere with a carefully prepared and grand Countdown event, promising an exciting new year to Sa Pa town.

On this occasion, Sa Pa town is also preparing a cultural space with the most typical features of ethnic minorities so that visitors can have more authentic and vivid experiences.
