On the afternoon of February 4, Mr. Tran Thanh Viet, Head of Planning Department of the new Eastern Bus Station, said that up to now, the station has sold 47,313 tickets, with 6,687 tickets remaining.
Currently, the station has run out of sleeper bus tickets on some routes such as: Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quy Nhon, Phu Yen, An Nhon, Nha Trang, Cam Ranh from December 21st to December 28th of the lunar calendar.
However, the transport unit still increases the number of seat buses to serve customers. On the last days of the year, such as the 29th and 30th of the 12th lunar month, if customers need to travel by sleeper bus, the station will still arrange buses to serve them.

According to Mr. Viet, on peak days when there are no more sleeper buses, passengers can use high-quality seat buses to use the service at the new Mien Dong bus station to travel to provinces and cities.
As for the route to Phu Yen and Binh Dinh provinces, it has not been operating effectively. According to the new Mien Dong bus station, on February 3, there were only 16 departures with 501 passengers.
The reason was that the vehicles were running on the wrong route, taking advantage of the route from the old Mien Dong Bus Station (Binh Thanh District) to Binh Duong, but in reality the vehicles were transporting passengers from the old Mien Dong Bus Station to Phu Yen and Binh Dinh.
This causes unhealthy competition among transport units and affects transport order. The station has now petitioned the authorities to handle the above situation.
Passengers board the new Eastern Bus Station.
At the old Eastern Bus Station (Binh Thanh District), a bus station representative said that currently, sleeper tickets for routes to the Central Highlands such as Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong... have been sold out, only seat tickets and extra buses remain. Passenger bookings for December 26, 27, and 28 are about 99%, and for other days, about 90%.
Mien Tay Bus Station is expected to serve more than 782,000 passengers in the 10 days before and after Tet. The bus station's leaders said they will ensure security and order, as well as traffic safety inside and outside the station.
