(Dan Tri) - On a 3km stretch of road, a male technology car driver was asked by a passenger to stop at a roadside grocery store to wait for him to buy something. At the end of the trip, the reactions of the female passenger and the driver surprised netizens.
"Please accept it for me, you are like my child. Please accept it to make me happy", the female passenger said, stuffing 20,000 VND into the driver's hand. However, the young man repeatedly refused and said: "It's okay, I can help you".
The behavior of the female passenger and the male driver warmed the hearts of viewers (Photo cut from clip: Provided by the character).
Seeing the passenger beg for a long time, the young man finally agreed. The clip recording this scene was posted on social media, attracting more than 700,000 views and tens of thousands of interactions. The owner of the clip, Mr. Phi (22 years old), said that this scene was recorded by him a few days ago, on a bus from District 3 to District 1 (HCMC).
At that time, he had agreed to take a female passenger for a distance of 3km. The fare of 16,000 VND was paid by the customer via an online application. On the way, the woman suddenly asked him to stop at a roadside grocery store to buy something for a few minutes.
The male driver didn't think much about it and followed the passenger's wishes. When they arrived, the female passenger unexpectedly gave him a tip of 20,000 VND, but Phi refused.
"The distance is short so it's okay for me to wait for her a bit. I work in the service industry, these things are small things," he shared.
When the customer convinced him and shared that he considered him like a son, the male driver was moved and accepted the tip to please the customer.
"I have been doing this job for over a year, running over 9,600 trips, and meeting many good people. One day I took a passenger from Ho Chi Minh City to Long An and was tipped an additional 250,000 VND. The most memorable time was when I fell off my motorbike, a female customer dropped everything and took me to the hospital," Phi confided.
However, the young man said that there were many times when customers looked down on him, cheated on him, and even harassed him. However, for the sake of making a living, he accepted and continued his work.
Recently, the market has been competitive, so he has to work 12-14 hours a day, running 28-35 trips, to earn enough money to cover living expenses and save some money for himself.
"I don't have a university degree so it's hard to get a high-paying job. I plan to go to vocational school next year to get a more stable job. So now I have to try to earn a lot of money to make that dream come true," Phi said.
In the comments section of the clip, many people praised Phi's behavior towards customers.
"It's just a small action, but the driver has scored points in the eyes of the customer. There are many rude and uncouth drivers, making it difficult for customers to talk or ask for help. If you provide good service, customers will automatically tip you or at least rate you 5 stars," commented a social media account.
