On October 29, Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the Economic Police Department recently obtained information about illegal diamond transportation through Tan Son Nhat International Airport. If the transportation was successful, the diamonds would be resold to Vietnamese contacts in Ho Chi Minh City.
At 9:00 a.m. on October 23, the Economic Police Department coordinated with the Tan Son Nhat Airport Customs Branch and Tan Binh District Police to inspect and discover that passenger PSH, an Indian national, entered Vietnam from India, illegally transporting diamonds.

At the investigation agency, H. admitted to the above acts. Initial inspection results determined that the goods that this person illegally transported included more than 700 natural and artificial diamonds, estimated to be worth tens of billions of VND.
Based on the verification results and collected documents, the Economic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police found that PSH's behavior showed signs of the crime of "Illegal transportation of goods across the border" under Article 189 of the Penal Code. The unit is continuing to consolidate documents and evidence, expand the investigation and pursue related people for handling.
