Overcoming the local surplus and shortage of teachers in the 2024 school year

Today, August 19, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri held a conference to summarize the 2023-2024 school year and deploy tasks for the 2024-2025 school year. In the 2023-2024 school year, with the theme "Solidarity, creativity, striving to successfully complete the tasks and goals of innovation, consolidating and improving the quality of education and training", the provincial Department of Education and Training has overcome difficulties, implemented many synchronous solutions, and basically completed the key tasks and solutions set out.

Directing and coordinating the preparation of necessary conditions and proactively implementing the 2018 General Education Program for all levels of education according to the roadmap and achieving many positive results. The teaching staff has basically effectively implemented teaching methods and forms, innovated testing and evaluation to develop students' capacity and qualities. The network and scale of schools and classes continue to receive investment attention.

The quality of mass education and key education has been improved. At the 2024 National High School Student Excellence Competition, Quang Tri students won 44 prizes, an increase of 12 prizes compared to the 2022-2023 school year, and there was a student who won first prize.

At the 2024 National Science and Technology Competition, there were 2 competing projects, winning 1 First Prize and 1 Third Prize, of which the First Prize winning project was selected to participate in the 2024 International Science and Technology Competition in the United States. By the end of 2023, the industry was honored to have 13 teachers awarded the title of "Excellent Teacher" by the President; completing the national standard school target at a rate of 55%.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Quang Tri Department of Education and Training chose the theme "Discipline, responsibility, innovation, improving the quality of education and training" to successfully implement and achieve the highest results in 9 contents in the general direction and goals and 16 key tasks and main solutions.

It is emphasized that the 2018 General Education Program, starting from this school year, will be implemented in all grades from grade 1 to grade 12 and is also the first school year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program. Special attention will be paid to improving teachers' responsibility and ethics; strengthening moral education, lifestyle, life skills, legal education, physical education for students, and ensuring school safety.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam requested the provincial Department of Education and Training to best prepare for the new school year, review and synthesize the current staffing situation of the affiliated blocks and the entire sector to have a strategy, proactively arrange and organize the staff, teachers and school employees to ensure reasonableness and science; coordinate synchronously between sectors and localities to rotate teachers, overcome the situation of local surplus and shortage.

Mobilize and integrate resources and programs to continue investing in building facilities and teaching equipment, prioritizing schools in mountainous, remote and isolated areas; overcome the shortage of classrooms and functional rooms and eliminate temporary classrooms; invest in teaching equipment to meet the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.

Promote solutions to improve the average score of high school graduation exams, striving for Quang Tri province to be among the top performers nationwide in the 2024-2025 school year. Review and rearrange schools and classrooms to suit the characteristics and conditions of each region and each school to ensure effective implementation of assigned targets for each level of education on recognizing schools as meeting national standards in 2024 at a rate of 62% and in 2025 at 70% according to the targets assigned by the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee. Strengthen the application of information technology in teaching and management.

On this occasion, the Department of Education and Training commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year.
