Synchronously implementing solutions to propagate and mobilize contributions; maximizing resources from officials, people, businesses and philanthropists; the program to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in Nghi Son town has achieved remarkable results.
Leaders of Nghi Son town and leaders of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development, Lam Son Branch handed over the house to the family of Ms. Dau Thi Ly, residential group 5, Hai An ward.
The family of Mrs. Bui Thi Toan, Hong Ky village, Dinh Hai commune, is a poor household, a single woman, and disabled, so life is very difficult. She is currently living in a makeshift, dilapidated house. Recently, her family received support of 80 million VND to build a new house. This is the amount of money donated by the Nghi Son Town Association in Thanh Hoa City through the Campaign to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the town according to Directive No. 22-CT/TU, dated March 30, 2024 of the Standing Committee of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on the Campaign to support the construction of houses for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the province in the 2 years 2024-2025 (Directive No. 22-CT/TU). On November 22, the Steering Committee of the campaign to support housing construction for poor households, policy households, and households with housing difficulties in the town in the 2 years 2024-2025 (the Town Steering Committee) held a groundbreaking ceremony and awarded money to support housing construction for her family.
In the same situation, not long after getting married, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly's husband in Phu Quang Residential Group, Nguyen Binh Ward, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Her husband passed away when her daughter was just over one year old, leaving her struggling to make a living and raise her child. Due to her unstable job, her family's life was only enough to get by, unable to build a new house on their own. Through the campaign, her family received 80 million VND in support from the contributions of the staff of the City Party Committee Office, the Propaganda Department and the Nghi Son Town Political Center. With her savings and the help of her relatives, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly was motivated to decide to build a new 60m2 house on the land her in-laws gave her.
Through screening, the entire Nghi Son town has 62 households in difficulty who are eligible for housing support in the first phase in 2024-2025. In order to mobilize maximum community resources, the Party Committee and authorities from the town to the grassroots level have organized propaganda to cadres, party members, union members and people of all walks of life in the area in many rich and diverse forms; posted news and propaganda articles on local media; visual propaganda in the central area of the town and communes, wards, villages and residential groups; at the same time, directed the Party Committees, affiliated Party cells, and socio-political organizations to organize conferences to disseminate and implement Directive No. 22-CT/TU, Plan No. 05-KH/BCĐ, dated April 10, 2024 of the Provincial Campaign Steering Committee; plans and directives and instructions of the Town Steering Committee to cadres, party members, union members, association members and the people. The Steering Committee also organized conferences to evaluate the progress of the campaign; regularly urged communes, wards, agencies and units to transfer the mobilized money to the town's "Fund for the Poor"; at the same time, implemented the plan to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for housing construction for households as approved by the Town People's Committee.
As of October 15, 2024, the total amount of registration and support from the program reached 11.8 billion VND, reaching 77% of the target assigned by the province.
