(Dan Tri) - Immediately upon receiving information reflecting on the situation of high airfares, the Civil Aviation Authority stepped in to verify. The inspection results have just been reported by this unit to the Ministry of Transport.
The Civil Aviation Authority has just reported to the Ministry of Transport the results of the inspection of domestic airfares from January 1 to April 30, including cases of passengers reporting that they were sold airfares at high prices. After 4 days of calling on passengers to send feedback on the situation of unusually high airfares, the Civil Aviation Authority received 11 complaints from passengers via email. Upon receiving the information, the Authority directed the functional departments to review and check the ticket prices according to the information provided by the passengers. The inspection results did not record any situation of tickets being sold at prices exceeding the price range prescribed in Circular 17 and Circular 34. The Civil Aviation Authority is implementing the response and information clarification to the passengers who have reported. (Illustration: Manh Quan). Through reviewing the ticket sales of airlines, the Civil Aviation Authority concluded that all airlines declared prices according to the passenger transport service price frame. Airlines also issued regulations on receiving and handling passenger feedback. Regarding public opinion that the average airfare price is higher than last year, the Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the domestic economy class ticket prices of airlines have basically increased compared to the same period in 2023. On the 3 main routes (including: Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi - Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City - Da Nang), Vietnam Airlines' ticket prices increased by 19.9%; 28.4% and 14.9% respectively; Vietjet Air increased by 17.9%; 39.9% and 27%; Bamboo Airways increased by 2.1%; 24.4% and 22.5%; Vietravel Airlines increased by 10.2%; 17.7% and 18.6%. Despite the increase in the proportion of high-priced segments, the majority of the ticket price structure sold by airlines is still in the low and medium price segments (from 60% to 70% of the number of tickets sold). Based on the domestic passenger transport price frame, Vietnam Airlines has 17 price levels, Vietjet Air has 20 price levels, Bamboo Airways has 12-15 price levels and Vietravel Airlines has 18 price levels for each flight. These prices do not exceed the maximum level according to regulations. The Civil Aviation Authority said that in the coming time, it will continue to open channels to receive information and handle and answer questions related to airfares higher than regulations.
