Kenny G surprised by the love of Vietnamese audiences

On the afternoon of November 13, famous saxophone artist Kenny G met with the press before the show "Kenny G Live In Vietnam" on the evening of November 14 at the National Convention Center, Hanoi .

Sharing at the press conference, Kenny G expressed his joy and excitement when returning to Vietnam after 8 years to perform in a music night that promises many interesting and surprising things. The male artist said he felt the love of the Vietnamese audience.

Artist Kenny G said he was surprised by the love of Vietnamese audiences.

"I would like to thank Nhan Dan Newspaper and IB Group for bringing me and my works back to Vietnam this time. I am very surprised by the love of Vietnamese audiences. I hope that with this love from you, the frequency of my appearances in your country to perform will be more frequent, maybe not 5 years but 3 years and shorter" - artist Kenny G shared.

The artist said he is trying to practice speaking Vietnamese with standard intonation and pronunciation. Regarding the special things for the show, Kenny G said that he has a band that has been with him for over 30 years and basically understands each other. The male artist added that in the show on the evening of November 14, he will play a song from his latest album along with familiar works such as Going Home, Forever in Love, Sentimental, The Moment, My heart will go on...

At the press conference, saxophonist Kenny G also presented the organizers with a saxophone for the charity auction. Talking about this saxophone, the artist said that this is a replica of the saxophone he started practicing in 1950.

"I don't usually give away saxophones. I once gave a saxophone to former US President Bill Clinton. I only give away saxophones on special occasions, like for projects at Nhan Dan Newspaper.

This type of trumpet is no longer in production, so I ordered a remake of the original trumpet. Personally, I feel that this trumpet has an important meaning for my career," said Kenny G.

In response to Kenny G's sentiments, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, was moved to share: "The Kenny G Live In Vietnam music night is not a regular commercial music program but a charity program. All ticket sales will be donated to families, individuals, especially children in difficult circumstances."

In response to the press's question about whether he would dedicate a Vietnamese song to the Vietnamese audience, artist Kenny G said that the Organizing Committee sent him a very famous piece called "Floating Water Fern" but recently he and the band have been on tour and have not had time to research how to perform music combined with other instruments. "From now until tomorrow night, I'm afraid I won't have time to practice. If I have time, I believe that performing this piece will be wonderful" - Mr. Kenny G shared.

During his series of activities in Vietnam, artist Kenny G will present Vietnamese audiences with a special MV, filmed at famous cultural and historical locations in Vietnam. The male artist is expected to visit Da Nang and Hoi An after the show in Hanoi.
