It is a message introducing the tourism potential of Mai Chau homeland with many majestic landscapes of rivers, lakes, caves, mountains and forests, fresh environment and climate, gentle and hospitable people...
In the coming time, Mai Chau district hopes to welcome more domestic and foreign visitors to explore and research the unique cultural values of the ethnic groups: Thai, Muong, Kinh, Dao, H'Mong, Tay, and Hoa.
Keng Loong is one of the outstanding folk cultural activities of the Thai community in Mai Chau district, associated with the people's lives for a long time. Loong is used in agricultural production as well as in rituals, beliefs and customs of the people. The art of Keng Loong dance of the Thai ethnic group has become an indispensable spiritual food for the people, especially during festivals such as: New Rice Celebration, Xen Ban Festival, Xen Muong Festival, Cha Chieng Festival, Lunar New Year... contributing to nurturing the character and soul of the Thai people in Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh province.
In November 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a Decision on including the social customs and beliefs of the Keng Loong people in Mai Chau district in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The "Xen Muong" Festival of the Thai ethnic group in Mai Chau district is a traditional folk festival, a very important cultural and religious activity for the local community. The organization of the "Xen Muong" Festival is to pray for the water god to bless favorable weather, good crops, prosperous families, and peaceful villages. The organization of the "Xen Muong" Festival is to honor the national cultural identity, promote and introduce the history and cultural and tourism potential of Mai Chau district, contribute to building a healthy spiritual and cultural life and create a joyful and exciting atmosphere on the occasion of the beginning of the Giap Thin Spring 2024.
The Xen Muong festival includes the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony takes place solemnly with the participation of the celebrant - Mr. Mo, performing the mo, praying and carrying the palanquin to the temple of Mr. Tuong Su in Chieng Chau hamlet, Chieng Chau commune. Immediately after the ceremony, people and tourists can immerse themselves in the festival space with many rich and unique activities such as: Visiting and enjoying unique dishes, typical products of the localities at the food stalls; cultural exchange, tug of war, throwing con and enjoying the gong and drum festival.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, beat the drum to open the festival. Next, delegates, tourists and people enjoyed the Keng Loong art performance by artisans; the unique and funny Keng Loong dance; the "Xen Muong" festival art performance consisting of 3 chapters: Origin; New day dawn, Mai Chau - a shining heroic epic.
On the opening day of the Xen Muong festival, delegates from the province, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, districts and cities performed the incense offering ceremony at Lang Bon temple, the tree planting ceremony in the yard of Lang Bon temple and visited the food stalls.
The festival took place with a solemn ceremony, the festival part had many cultural and sports activities showing the beauty of traditional culture, sending a message to promote the tourism potential of Mai Chau homeland, bringing interesting experiences about the land with strong identity and rich hospitality./.
