In the announcement, Jeep said that users can continue to drive their vehicles. However, the American car company also advised car owners to park away from other vehicles and structures, and users should not plug in the Jeep Wrangler 4xe until the vehicle is recalled for inspection and repair.
Jeep has not received any reports of injuries or crashes related to this issue.
Jeep will use the device to check for software errors on affected vehicles. If a specific error code is displayed, Jeep will replace the battery.
The recall affects 32,125 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles in the United States, approximately 3,856 vehicles in Canada and 9,249 vehicles outside of North America.
