Iran "shows off" its first hypersonic missile, advanced US-Israeli defense systems are no match

On June 6, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported that the country has unveiled its first hypersonic ballistic missile named Fattah.

IRNA also posted images of the announcement event, which was attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Rahisi and senior generals from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Fattah's maximum speed reaches 15,000 km/h, five times the speed of sound, and on a complex trajectory, making them difficult to intercept.

"Fattah can target the enemy's advanced missile defense systems and is a generational breakthrough in the missile field," IRNA said.

According to the news, this missile can overcome advanced defense systems of the US and Israel, including the Iron Dome system.

Earlier, in November 2022, General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force, announced that Iran had developed a new hypersonic missile that could reach Israel in 400 seconds.

“This system is very fast and has the ability to travel in and out of the atmosphere, bypassing all defense systems... and I don't think we'll find the technology to deal with it for decades to come,” the official said.
