It is expected that during the 10-day program, the Interplast volunteer surgery team will perform surgery for about 80 unfortunate children with congenital facial deformities. This is a humanitarian activity that contributes to bringing smiles and confidence to children in difficult circumstances who do not have the conditions for surgery.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Loi, Director of the Center for Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, Hue Central Hospital, said that in addition to free surgery, the experts also organized scientific exchanges, updated maxillofacial plastic surgery and participated in training for young surgeons at the Center. The two sides also discussed and planned to deploy specialized techniques in bone correction and bone grafting for children with deformities in the following years.
Interplast (Federal Republic of Germany) and Hue Central Hospital have maintained a cooperative relationship since 2016 until now in the field of cosmetic plastic surgery. Every year, professors and leading experts from major German hospitals and universities belonging to this organization come to examine and perform humanitarian surgery for poor patients in difficult circumstances, suffering from congenital maxillofacial deformities in Vietnam. |
