Accordingly, familiar faces who are playing in the Indonesian national championship such as Witan Sulaeman, Marselino Ferdinan or Rizky Ridho are all named, alongside newly naturalized players currently playing abroad such as Rafael Struick, Justin Hubner, Ivan Jenner.
Naturalized player Nathan Tjoe-A-On is the latest face to be called up to the Indonesia U23 team to strengthen the archipelago team on the left wing of the defense.
Defender and thrower Pratama Arhan is also on the list after being approved by his Korean club Suwon. That means that at the upcoming U23 Asian Cup, coach Shin Tae Yong can field almost the entire Indonesian squad that just defeated Vietnam in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
According to Bola , the Indonesian U23 team will soon fly to the UAE to train in preparation for the continental tournament. Coach Shin Tae Yong and his team will have about 10 days of training as well as two friendly matches before the tournament. The friendly opponents will be the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
At the upcoming tournament in Qatar, U23 Indonesia is in Group A with host U23 Qatar, U23 Australia and U23 Jordan. Meanwhile, U23 Vietnam is in Group D with Uzbekistan, Kuwait and Malaysia.
