On the evening of October 9, Ho Chi Minh City FC welcomed Odisha FC (India) at Thong Nhat Stadium, in the second match of Group C, AFC Champions League Women (also known as Asian Women's Cup C1) 2024 - 2025. The home team had a dream start, taking the lead in the first minute of the match. From a corner kick, Huynh Nhu passed the ball into the penalty area for Nguyen Thi Kim Yen to head the ball in to open the score for Ho Chi Minh City FC.

After scoring an early goal, Ho Chi Minh City FC faced fierce resistance from the Indian team. Odisha FC then created several clear attacking situations and caused trouble for goalkeeper Quach Thu Em's goal.
In the 21st minute, Meghan Root accelerated on the right wing and crossed the ball quite well, but Phan Thi Trang cushioned the ball out.
