Krong Nang District: Strengthening the connection of "4 houses" to support farmers in production and consumption of goods

On November 22, the working delegation of the Steering Committee of Project 61 provinces led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Y Bier Nie inspected the implementation results of Conclusion No. 61-KL/TW dated December 3, 2009 of the Central Party Secretariat on "Project to enhance the role and responsibility of the Vietnam Farmers' Union in agricultural development, new rural construction and building the Vietnamese peasant class"; Decision No. 516/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2021 of the Prime Minister on "Vietnam Farmers' Union directly implementing and coordinating the implementation of a number of programs and projects on rural economic, cultural and social development in the period of 2020 - 2022" in Krong Nang district.

Krong Nang district has 12 communes and towns, a natural area of over 61,000 hectares, 25 ethnic groups living together, the agricultural and forestry sector accounts for over 56% of the district's economic structure.

In recent times, the Steering Committee of Project 61 districts has regularly directed Farmers' Associations at all levels to promote information and propaganda work, contributing to raising awareness among cadres, party members, and farmers about the role and responsibility of the Farmers' Association in agricultural development, new rural construction, and building the Vietnamese peasant class.

The Standing Committee of the District Farmers' Association has closely followed Conclusion No. 61 of the Central Party Secretariat and Decision No. 516/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister to proactively develop plans and work programs, clearly defining the activities of the Steering Committee; strengthening propaganda and mobilizing farmers to develop production in line with local planning orientations; promoting the movement of farmers competing in good production and business, uniting to help each other and sustainably reducing poverty. In 2023, the district will have 8,700 farmer members achieving the title of "Good Production and Business", reaching 106% of the assigned target.

In 2023, the District Farmers' Association coordinated with relevant units to open 4 vocational training classes, with 65 students participating; opened 25 training classes on livestock farming, cultivation, and pest control for more than 1,300 farmers; 13 training classes on durian tree care techniques for more than 450 farmers...

The District Farmers' Association at all levels has mobilized members to contribute to renovating, upgrading and repairing 17 km of rural roads, 33 km of concrete roads, with a mobilized amount of over 50 million VND and 375 working days; coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to lend over 35 billion VND to 1,190 farmers to invest in production and business. The District Farmers' Association is also managing the Farmers' Support Fund of nearly 2 billion VND, lending over 1.6 billion VND to 67 households.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Y Bier Nie emphasized that in the coming time, Krong Nang district needs to continue to lead and direct more effectively the contents of Conclusion 61 and Decision 516, closely following the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the local socio-economic development tasks; continue to develop the Farmers' Support Fund to meet the demand for loan capital for members to develop production and business.

Continue to innovate and build production models according to the value chain, helping members access scientific and technical advances and modern production technology to improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness of products, increase economic efficiency for members; continue to organize vocational training courses, agricultural, forestry, and fishery extension, transfer of science, technology, and new technologies.

Coordinate with relevant agencies to actively participate in building new rural areas suitable for each locality; strengthen the connection between "4 houses" (state, scientists, businesses, farmers) to support farmers in production, consumption of goods and support jobs for farmers...
