Cu Kuin District: Deploying socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security in 2024

On the morning of December 25, the People's Committee of Cu Kuin district held a conference to review the tasks of 2023; deploy tasks of socio-economic development, ensuring security and national defense, and estimating state budget revenue and expenditure in 2024.

In 2023, despite many difficulties and challenges, the district's economy continued to maintain development, the economic structure gradually shifted in the right direction. Budget revenue is estimated at 131 billion VND, reaching 106.9% of the plan assigned by the province. Total mobilized capital for social development investment reached 1,360 billion VND, reaching 104.62% of the plan, up 18.26% over the same period.

Vice Chairman of Cu Kuin District People's Committee Le Phu Hanh clarified some contents on socio-economic development indicators.

Land management, environment, and construction order were strengthened; site clearance for key projects ensured progress. Social security, culture, education, and health care had many positive changes. National target programs were focused on and implemented. Administrative reform (PAR) increased 2 ranks compared to the previous year.

In addition, there are still some limitations: Some targets of state budget collection have not been achieved; disbursement of capital investment plans for basic construction, the work of establishing, appraising and approving project works is still slow. The completion and approval of the project to classify the urban center of Cu Kuin district as a type V urban area, and Trung Hoa urban area is slow. The situation of social order and security sometimes becomes complicated...

At the conference, the District People's Committee assigned the public investment plan from the local budget; assigned the state plan targets for 2024. The total production value (2010 comparable price) reached 7,206 billion VND; the economic growth rate at current prices was 6.61%; the average production value per capita at current prices reached 107.77%; the total social investment capital was 1,550 billion VND; the state budget revenue was 185.07 billion VND; the poverty rate decreased by 0.8%; the PAR Index ranked 6/15...

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the District People's Committee Vo Tan Huy requested units and localities to develop detailed plans and implement them resolutely from the beginning of 2024, ensuring the successful implementation of socio-economic development targets; speed up the implementation of new rural construction; ensure budget collection; strengthen land management, review and evaluate the investment portfolio of projects; focus on improving the effectiveness of administrative reform, improving people's satisfaction, and actively implementing the construction of e-government.
