After the accident, the police summoned the captain of the Hang Chau ship, the ferry driver and other people involved to investigate the cause. The police determined that both had no alcohol or drug levels, but did not make a final conclusion about the fault of the parties.
An Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that early next week it will coordinate with localities, tourism and travel businesses to develop a plan to ensure safety not only for tourist boats but also for all other vehicles running on the Tien River.
