This is also the first locality in Hung Yen province to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting advanced new rural standards.
Congratulating the impressive results that Van Giang district has achieved after 25 years of re-establishment, Hung Yen Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Huu Nghia suggested that the district continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, joint efforts, and consensus to maintain and improve the quality of the criteria for an advanced new rural district. At the same time, coordinate with departments and branches to speed up the completion of zoning plans and detailed plans according to the plans approved by the Prime Minister, to soon deploy works and projects to develop socio-economic infrastructure...
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia said that Van Giang needs to continue to strongly shift its economic structure associated with renewing the growth model based on urban economy, trade, services and industry, promoting the application of science - technology, innovation. The district promotes restructuring the agricultural sector towards modernity and ecology associated with the development of agricultural services. Along with that, the district needs to focus on solving bottlenecks, especially in site clearance, land acquisition, resettlement to serve the implementation of public investment projects, especially the Ring Road 4 project, Ring Road 3-5 project, new administrative center area, urban area projects, housing areas...
The Secretary of the Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee noted that in the coming time, Van Giang district needs to increase public investment along with promoting the attraction of foreign investment and private investment in urban area investment projects, modern, smart and ecological housing; commercial, service, education and training projects. Thereby, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic infrastructure, focusing on developing urban infrastructure, traffic infrastructure, environmental protection associated with meeting the criteria of type III and type II urban areas... The district continues to pay attention to cultural and social development, ensuring social progress and equity; increasing investment in preserving and promoting the value of the cultural and historical heritage system, associated with tourism development, creating new momentum for socio-economic development; determined to strive to have no more poor households by the end of 2024...
Chairman of Van Giang District People's Committee Nguyen Van Tuan said that after 13 years of building new rural areas, up to now, the district has 10/10 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; of which 7 communes meet model new rural standards, 29/79 villages meet model new rural residential area standards. In 2023, the total production value of the district will reach over 18,000 billion VND, 44.06 times higher than in 2000; state budget revenue will reach over 16,000 billion VND, more than 3,500 times higher. Average income per capita will reach over 125 million VND/person/year; revenue per hectare of cultivated land will reach 442.8 million VND. The poverty rate is always the lowest compared to other localities in the province.
By 2025, Van Giang district strives to have 100% of communes meeting the standards of model new rural areas; 50% of villages meeting the standards of model new rural residential areas; average income per capita of 155 million VND/person/year, striving to become a type III urban area by 2025.
