On the afternoon of February 23rd (the 14th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), a firecracker competition took place at the special national historical site of the tombs and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings in Tien Duc commune (Hung Ha district).

The leaders of Hung Ha district presented the first prize to Thong Nhat village.

This year's competition features 5 teams from 5 villages in Chi Lang commune (Hung Ha district), with 10 firecracker makers from each village. Each maker creates 3 oval-shaped firecrackers, 4-8 meters long and weighing approximately 20-27 kg. Each time the firecrackers are tossed and turned, a measuring stick is used; the team with the longest firecracker string wins.

Leaders of Hung Ha district presented the second prize to Tien Phong village. The Organizing Committee awarded consolation prizes to three villages: Minh Khai, Quyet Thang, and Tran Phu.

At the end of the competition, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Thong Nhat village, the second prize to Tien Phong village; and three consolation prizes to the villages of Minh Khai, Quyet Thang, and Tran Phu.

The firecracker contest attracted a large number of participants.

Making firecrackers requires meticulous and elaborate work.

Each firework maker made three oval-shaped firecrackers, measuring 4-8 meters in length and weighing approximately 20-27 kg. Each time the firecrackers are launched and turned over, a measuring stick is used to determine the length; the team with the longest firecracker string wins.

This folk game recreates the way soldiers of the Tran Dynasty trained their physical fitness, diligence, endurance, and dexterity. To this day, the firecracker competition at the Tran Temple festival is still preserved by the people of Hung Ha district.
