The reason for the increase in melon prices is that this summer, lychee production in the province decreased, prices were high, and consumers switched to many other types of fruit, including melons.
Tan Minh Duc Cooperative currently has 30 hectares of melons, mainly green-fleshed melons and yellow-fleshed melons, following clean production in greenhouses and net houses.
This crop, the melon yield is estimated at 27 tons/ha, equivalent to the same period last year. Each year, members grow 3 crops of melon, with revenue reaching about 2.5 billion VND/year. After deducting expenses, farmers earn an average profit of 1 billion VND/ha/year. The cooperative's melon products have been consumed in supermarket systems and some wholesale markets in Hai Duong.
Tan Minh Duc Cooperative was established in 2014 and now has 189 members.
