Today, October 2, in Ho Chi Minh City, a conference was held to review the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Agreement between Ho Chi Minh City and a number of localities in the North and North Central regions for the period 2023-2024 and the Implementation Plan for the period 2024-2025. The conference was chaired by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the People's Committees of 9 provinces: Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue. The delegation of Quang Tri province was led by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy highly appreciated the spirit of cooperation and proactive coordination in implementing the signed cooperation agreements of the localities. This conference is an opportunity to evaluate the results of implementation in the past time, the achievements and limitations. From there, we will discuss and exchange more practical tasks to contribute to the success of implementing the signed cooperation agreements, at the same time, rebuild and restore the economy of the flood-affected areas, helping people return to normal life.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung presented the province's strategic location, potentials, advantages and achievements in the fields of economy, culture, society, social security, national defense and security through cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, Quang Tri province has recently successfully organized the first Peace Festival, conveying the message of the strong vitality of the peace-loving Vietnamese people, calling on humanity to join hands in building sustainable peace in the world.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the results that Quang Tri achieved in 2023-2024 had the contributions and support of central ministries, branches, other provinces and especially the Party Committee, government, people and businesses of Ho Chi Minh City.

Notably, the organization of exhibition events, festivals, supply-demand connection programs, fairs, conferences, seminars, and regional-level talks; the program "Gratitude to the Ancient Citadel - Warming the Fire River - Discovering the Con Co Outpost Island" and the signing ceremony of the cooperation program between Saigon Tourist Corporation and Quang Tri province for the period 2023 - 2025; actively participating in activities at the Trans-Asia Bridge Trade and Tourism Fair organized by Quang Tri province.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung emphasized that for Quang Tri, the development cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City is both an honor and an opportunity to promote and attract investment, and boost the province's socio-economic development. Quang Tri identifies comprehensive development cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in the fields of socio-economics, defense and security, as an opportunity to promote the local advantages to develop the province in depth, meeting the integration trend in the coming period.
At the same time, highly agree with the cooperation contents of the two localities in the coming time in the field of socio-economic development and social security support activities. Hope that the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and the city's departments and branches will continue to pay attention to directing the implementation of cooperation contents to improve quality and efficiency, creating favorable conditions to help Quang Tri province develop more strongly in the coming time.

Concluding the conference, the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee highly appreciated the role of the Northern and North Central regions and the positive results of cooperation in recent times, creating a spillover effect in many fields, opening up many new development spaces, innovation suitable for each locality, creating an environment and development motivation for domestic and foreign enterprises and investors.
Therefore, it is extremely necessary to continue to promote and strengthen the signing of focused and key cooperation agreements between Ho Chi Minh City and the Northern and North Central provinces in the period of 2024-2025. Immediately after the conference, the city will have instructions for each department, branch and sector to have a plan to coordinate with relevant units in the province, city and region to concretize the contents into practice effectively.
