Meeting to celebrate the 99th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the 99-year journey since June 21, 1925, when leader Nguyen Ai Quoc published the first issue of Thanh Nien newspaper, laying the foundation for the birth of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.

Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh shared that over the past 99 years, even in the most difficult and challenging periods, Vietnamese revolutionary journalists have always shouldered the responsibility of accompanying the nation and people. During the war years, tens of thousands of cadres and reporters held both pens and guns, fighting side by side with soldiers and laborers, serving in combat on the front lines, and the blood and golden words on the front lines' news have embellished the glorious tradition of the country's revolutionary press.

“In the period of innovation and integration with thousands of new challenges and difficulties, revolutionary press has always shown itself to be “pure gold in the red fire” of the revolution on the Party’s “ideological front line”, “separating the muddy from the clear” to convey political orientations into the people’s trust in the Party, State and regime” - Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh said.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao also informed about the outstanding results in socio -economic development in 2023 and especially in the first 6 months of 2024 of Binh Duong province.

Accordingly, in the first 5 months of 2024, the province has achieved many positive results, many indicators have achieved good growth such as: Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by nearly 4.7% over the same period in 2023; total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by more than 13%; export turnover reached 13.8 billion USD and increased by 13.9%, trade surplus reached 4.4 billion USD; new budget revenue reached 30,813 billion VND, increased by 7% over the same period in 2023...

In the field of investment attraction, Binh Duong province attracted an additional 589 million USD in FDI capital, raising the current FDI capital in Binh Duong province to 4,306 projects with a total investment capital of 40.7 billion USD. These results have great motivational and encouraging significance, creating a solid foundation for the province to successfully complete the goals and tasks of 2024 and the entire 2020-2025 term; and are the driving force for the entire political system to continue to create and build for Binh Duong to develop further.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee said: “In order to have the positive results that Binh Duong province has achieved in all fields, in addition to the efforts and efforts to overcome difficulties of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots, there are great contributions from press agencies inside and outside the province. In the midst of difficulties, the spirit of solidarity, consensus, and efforts to overcome difficulties of all classes of people, the business community, and the entire political system shine more brightly, and the role of propaganda, agitation, and ideological orientation of the press and media is more important than ever, in which, the team of journalists in the province is always the pioneer, leading force, providing timely, honest, and comprehensive information on the political, economic, and social life of the province”.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao assessed that in recent times, press agencies have innovated, approached modern journalism technology, and gradually transformed digitally in journalism activities, bringing press information to different infrastructures and media platforms to increase the ability to interact with readers. The amount of information posted on new media is diverse, reflecting many aspects, attracting a large number of visitors, contributing to the good implementation of propaganda tasks.

Towards the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 12th Congress of the Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee, the 14th National Congress of the Party, the provincial leaders hope that the press agencies and journalists inside and outside the province in Binh Duong, with their affection and responsibility for Binh Duong province and the revolutionary journalism cause, will inherit and continue the glorious tradition of previous generations, with "sharp pen, pure heart, bright mind" continue to accompany Binh Duong province, fulfill their roles and missions well, contribute to building a civilized - modern - affectionate Binh Duong province, truly a place worth living, continue to make important contributions to the cause of building and developing the country to become more and more prosperous and happy.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the authors who won the following awards: National Journalism Award on Party Building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Journalism Award); Writing Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation; Journalism Award on the Southeast Region and Nguyen Van Tiet Journalism Award of Binh Duong Province in 2024.
