Images of the new Honda City versions have not been released, but it can be predicted that this is the mid-life upgrade version (facelift) that dealer sales consultants revealed in advance and was launched in June. Currently, dealers have accepted deposits for City 2023, but Honda Vietnam has not yet confirmed the upcoming launch of a new car.
According to information on the website of the Department of Registration, the latest version of Honda City has many similarities with its predecessor. The overall dimensions of the car are 4,589 x 1,748 x 1,467 (mm), 16-inch wheels, 185/55R16 tire size and a 1.5L engine code L15ZC for a capacity of 119 horsepower. The car still uses front-wheel drive.
Most likely, the City 2023 facelift sold in Vietnam may be similar to the version distributed in the Indian market. Therefore, the exterior design of the Honda City 2023 will change mainly in the front/rear bumpers, the grille is extended to both sides and the interior is honeycomb-shaped bars, the front LED headlights remain the same.
Notably, according to information on the website of the Vietnam Register, the Honda City 2023 will be equipped with 4-wheel disc brakes on the highest-end RS version, showing that the Japanese automaker has listened to customers better. In the current version, the City RS only has disc brakes on the front wheels, while the rear wheels still use traditional drum brakes, creating a pretty big minus point in the eyes of users.
The L version's weight increased from 1.124 tons to 1.128 tons, while the RS version increased from 1.134 tons to 1.140 tons.
In addition, the dealer also revealed that Honda City in the Vietnamese market will be equipped with the Honda Sensing active safety technology package, including features such as: Automatic Adaptive Headlight System (AHB); Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS); Lane Departure Mitigation System (RDM); Adaptive Cruise Control System including Low Speed Range (ACC with LSF); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).
In terms of interior, Honda City 2023 will not have many changes. The steering wheel cluster is integrated with additional buttons for active cruise control, lane control... and will come with the Honda SENSING active safety system.
Unfortunately, the Honda City 2023 in Vietnam still does not have an electronic handbrake like in India. Instead, the car still uses the traditional mechanical handbrake system as before as well as keeping the same 4-cylinder, 1.5L gasoline engine for 119 horsepower and maximum torque of 145 Nm. Comes with a CVT gearbox.
Currently, information and price of Honda City 2023 have not been shared by Honda dealers. However, with the Honda SENSING upgrade, the expected price will also increase compared to the previous version.
