Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC), at the end of the most recent trading session, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 6,724 USD/ton, down 0.22% compared to yesterday, the price of Muntok white pepper at 9,205 USD/ton, up 0.23% compared to yesterday.

According to a recent report by Nedspice, Vietnam's pepper exports in the fourth quarter of 2024 will depend on the release of multi-year carryover stocks held by major investors and additional import volumes.
Nedspice said the global inventory-to-demand ratio is falling, pushing prices up and encouraging farmers to invest in maintaining and expanding their pepper farms.
According to the International Trade Center (ITC), by the end of the third quarter, pepper exports from Vietnam and Brazil, the world's two leading producers, had decreased compared to the same period last year. In return, pepper exports from Indonesia and India increased sharply.
According to data from the International Pepper Community (IPC), black pepper prices fluctuated in the third quarter, with increases in Vietnam and Malaysia, but decreases in Indonesia and Brazil. Specifically, Malaysian black pepper prices increased by 18.7% in the last quarter, reaching $8,900/ton.
Similarly, the prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper in Vietnam increased by 19.3 - 22.4%, reaching 6,800 USD/ton and 7,100 USD/ton respectively. In contrast, the price of black pepper in Brazil decreased by 7.5% to 6,750 USD/ton. The price of pepper in Indonesia also decreased by 2.2% to 6,939 USD/ton. In the first 20 days of October, the price decline in Indonesia and Brazil continued to spread to other producers.
Meanwhile, black pepper prices in Brazil continued to decrease by 5.2% compared to the end of September, down to only 6,400 USD/ton. In addition, black pepper prices in Indonesia also decreased by 2.1%, to 6,794 USD/ton. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, black pepper prices turned down by 2.2% to 8,700 USD/ton. The prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l black pepper in Vietnam also decreased by 4.2 - 4.4%, reaching 6,500 USD/ton and 6,800 USD/ton, respectively.
