On the morning of August 23, in the program celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Scholarship Fund, the Women's Union of District 3 awarded 140 scholarships to students with difficult circumstances who have made efforts in their studies.

Ms. Doan Thi Cam Tu, President of the Women's Union of District 3, said that when it was first established, the scholarship fund was only able to support 20 scholarships, but each year the number of scholarships has gradually increased.
"Over the 35-year journey, the Nguyen Thi Minh Khai scholarship has supported thousands of poor but studious students. Many have passed university entrance exams, become doctors, teachers, etc., and then returned to join hands with the Association to build and continue the tradition of mutual love" - Ms. Tu shared.
On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper also supported the awarding of 10 scholarships (VND 2 million/scholarship) from the program "Scholarship to support ethnic minority and poor students".
Ms. Tu emphasized that the cooperation of the Lao Dong Newspaper in particular and philanthropists and accompanying units in general has contributed to helping the fund support many difficult circumstances.

Each scholarship includes notebook, backpack and 2 million VND.
Holding the scholarship in her hand, Tran Ngoc Phuong Linh (15 years old) emotionally said: "I will bring this gift home to give to my mother, she will definitely be very happy."
Linh confided that her family was poor, so after graduating from junior high school, she changed her career path to study at Ly Tu Trong College. There were only two of them, mother and daughter, so Linh tried hard to study. Her biggest dream was to graduate soon and find a stable job to take care of her mother.
Anh Thi (10 years old) said her father works as a security guard in a unit in District 3, and her mother has a younger sibling so she cannot work yet. Although her family is poor, Thi has always been an excellent student for many years. She dreams of becoming a dancer in the future.
"I'm very happy to receive the scholarship. I will use it to buy more school supplies. If there is any left, I will buy gifts for my siblings" - Anh Thi said with a smile.

Over the past 35 years, the Association at all levels has awarded 14,358 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai scholarships, worth more than 9.2 billion VND.
In addition, the scholarship fund's activities also help the Women's Union at all levels to have conditions to closely follow and care for the lives of women and children in difficult circumstances, organize better care activities, thereby promoting and mobilizing women to join the organization, building a strong Women's Union.
