On the morning of September 23, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Huong Son district, said that due to the complicated flood situation, this morning the whole district had 5,643 students in 17 schools having to stay home from school. Including 8 kindergartens, 5 primary schools, 4 secondary schools.
On the same day, in Huong Khe district, 3,376 students were also given a day off to ensure safety due to the prolonged heavy rain that caused flooding on the roads.
The Department of Education and Training of the districts has directed school principals to closely monitor the flood situation to take timely measures to ensure the safety of students, staff, teachers and employees; ensure the safety of assets, facilities and school buildings; proactively move machinery, teaching equipment, documents and records to higher floors or to places without the risk of flooding to avoid damage.
In addition, the department has also directed schools to regularly monitor, update, and report information; in case students are absent from school, they must make a written report to relevant organizations and individuals; coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies to promptly overcome the consequences and have plans to support students in studying and consolidating knowledge after the floods end.
According to the Ha Tinh Hydrometeorological Station, in the past 6 hours, the Ha Tinh area has had moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places have had very heavy rain. Rainfall at some automatic rain gauge stations: Cau Treo: 166mm, Son Truong: 126mm, Son Ham: 122mm, Son Diem: 120mm (Huong Son district); Huong Dien: 114mm, Son Tho: 106mm (Vu Quang district); Duc Long: 85mm (Duc Tho district).
In the next 6 hours, Ha Tinh will have rain, some places will have moderate rain. Accumulated rainfall is generally from 30-50mm, some places over 70mm. There is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in the districts of Huong Son, Vu Quang, Huong Khe, Duc Tho, Nghi Xuan.
