More than 8,600 Quang Tri candidates take high school graduation exam in 2024

Tomorrow morning, June 27, along with more than 1,067,000 candidates nationwide, more than 8,600 candidates in Quang Tri officially took the 2024 high school graduation exam. On the first exam day, in the morning, students took the Literature exam with a total time of 120 minutes, and in the afternoon, they took the Math exam with a total time of 90 minutes.

This year, Quang Tri province has more than 8,600 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam, including more than 8,000 high school students and more than 460 independent candidates. The whole province has 26 exam sites (19 inter-school exam sites and 7 independent exam sites) with 350 exam rooms.

There are 1,400 teachers on exam duty; more than 220 service staff; 200 security police; 60 medical staff and 200 teachers from the Department of Education and Training mobilized as backup to reinforce. On the afternoon of June 26, the whole province had 64 candidates who did not come to complete exam procedures, the rate of candidates who came to complete procedures was 95.52%.

According to Director of the Department of Education and Training Le Thi Huong, with the close direction of professional agencies and careful preparation of schools, 26 testing sites across the province are ready for the 2024 High School Graduation Exam to ensure the exam takes place safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations.

This is the final exam according to the 2006 General Education Program, so the preparation of knowledge for students, the thorough guidance of students on skills and methods for taking the exam have been given special attention by schools. Plans to ensure security, order, traffic safety, fire and natural disaster prevention have also been deployed in a secure manner, to help all candidates participate in the exam and achieve the highest results.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training held a training conference on organizing high school graduation exams for officials in charge of exams at schools and educational institutions, disseminating and guiding officials, teachers, employees, students and parents on the 2024 high school graduation exam regulations.

Educational institutions with students taking the exam coordinate with the parents' representative committee and the youth union of the schools to develop a plan for travel and accommodation for candidates living far away during the exam period. Review the target groups of students who are ethnic minorities, families with preferential policies, students with disabilities, candidates in difficult circumstances, candidates in remote areas and have a plan to coordinate and support and help them during the exam period.

In order to help candidates confidently participate in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, from June 26 to 29, Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union deployed the program "Supporting the exam season" with 26 volunteer teams supporting at exam sites in 9 districts, towns and cities with nearly 940 volunteers participating; focusing on supporting at exam sites in remote areas.

The exam season support teams will support candidates with exam procedures; provide breakfast, lunch and drinks; free lunch breaks, cheap accommodations for candidates and their families; implement free pick-up and drop-off activities for candidates in especially difficult circumstances, remote areas, and candidates with disabilities; support tools and learning equipment for candidates when necessary; cheer and encourage candidates and support situations that arise at exam locations when necessary.

Coordinate with relevant authorities to promptly prevent negative phenomena affecting candidates such as: issuing illegal documents, increasing prices of products and services, causing disorder, theft, fraud, traffic insecurity; organize volunteer teams to guide and direct traffic to ensure traffic safety at exam sites with high traffic density.

Before the exam, volunteers from the provincial Youth Union also actively participated in guiding and supporting candidates in reviewing and practicing for the exam, providing career counseling, admission counseling, psychological counseling, etc.

By the afternoon of June 26, the 2024 "Exam Support" Program had mobilized resources including: 800 pens and pencils; 11,710 milk cartons; 700 free meals; 54,526 bottles of mineral water; 700 sweet breads and hundreds of soft drinks, sugarcane juice, effervescent tablets, convenient raincoats... to be ready to support candidates and their families.
