The Investment and Trade Promotion Conference in Can Tho City, organized by the Investment and Trade Promotion Center and Can Tho Exhibition Fair (CPA), aims to exchange and seek investment cooperation opportunities in many fields between Can Tho City, Thu Duc City and Thanh Hoa Province. At the same time, the conference also introduces and promotes the potential, advantages and development orientation of the locality.
In particular, the conference conveyed the messages, potentials, strengths, and typical products of Can Tho City and the city planning content for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to investors and businesses of Thu Duc City and Thanh Hoa Province, in the context of Can Tho City piloting the implementation of specific policy mechanisms for development, in order to promote the attraction of investment capital and modern, advanced technology from domestic and foreign investors.
In addition, the conference supports connecting distributors, purchasing units, and key units of Thu Duc City and Thanh Hoa Province with Can Tho's strong products such as agricultural products, processed agricultural products, seafood, rice, etc. so that businesses have the opportunity to meet, exchange, find partners, and expand the market.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Tran Viet Truong - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - said that in 2023, the export turnover of the Mekong Delta will be 68 billion USD. Of which, Can Tho City ranks first in export turnover. Every year, Can Tho exports 2.2 billion USD, of which 30% is revenue from rice exports. In the future, Can Tho will expand the airport into a large international airport with a capacity of transporting 10-15 million passengers/year and more than 10 million tons of goods/year.
According to Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Can Tho has a strategic location, located in the center of the Mekong Delta, is the gateway to the lower Mekong River, plays an important role in intra-regional and international transportation, including waterway transportation system (3 ports that can receive 5,000 - 20,000 tons), road (6 national highways passing through, expressway connecting conveniently with Ho Chi Minh City and provinces in the region); air route (Can Tho International Airport). The development of the logistics system in Can Tho City contributes to promoting investment attraction not only for the locality and the Mekong Delta, but also contributes to connecting Vietnam with countries in the Mekong Sub-region.
