More than 2,000 people participate in walk for cancer patients in Vietnam

On October 20, SCI - the Salt Cancer Initiative social enterprise cooperated with Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group to organize the event "5,000 happy steps - Walking festival for Vietnamese cancer patients 2024" at LePARC by Gamuda urban area park (Hoang Mai district, Hanoi).


Founded in 2016, Salt Cancer Initiative (SCI) is a social enterprise that aims to provide information, knowledge and organize activities to support the cancer patient community in Vietnam.

With its efforts to accompany cancer patients, SCI was voted into the Top 2 inspirational projects of WeChoice Award (2018), was awarded the Certificate of Merit for the "National Volunteer" Award by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (2019) and won the Inspirational Project Award at the Human Act Prize 2023.

Over 8 years of operation, SCI has organized and maintained a series of regular, sustainable projects such as: A series of 9 free weekly yoga classes for cancer patients in 5 cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Hue, Thai Binh), 9 weekly online yoga classes, MEET-UP series of in-depth workshops on cancer, drawing classes in 3 cities (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang), free film screening project, online cancer knowledge library...

In addition, SCI annually organizes community events with hundreds and thousands of people such as: Vietnam Cancer Patient Forum - connecting domestic and international experts and leading doctors to exchange with patients in Vietnam, "5,000 Happy Steps - Walking Festival with cancer patients", "We are enough - Fashion show for cancer patients"...
