Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Vietnam Olivier Brochet said that French-Vietnamese scientific cooperation has existed for a long time with the presence of French research organizations in Vietnam. These organizations are participating in dozens of scientific projects contributing to the development of the country in many different forms. Through research agencies working with partners in Vietnam, France cooperates with Vietnam to better understand the common impacts of economic development and climate change on ecosystems, biodiversity, public health and food security.
According to Professor Hoang Chung Tham, Auburn University, there needs to be close coordination between scientists, managers, private production facilities and industrial plants to find a common solution that both protects the environment and at the same time ensures economic development to serve the goal of long-term, sustainable development.
Mr. Duong Nguyen - United States Agency for International Development (USAID) said that in recent times, USAID has strategically cooperated with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to improve environmental security and support collective action to reduce environmental pollution. From 2021 to now, USAID has supported the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, provinces, cities, and local researchers with more than 30 million USD to address environmental pollution. To maintain the balance between economic growth and the environment, USAID will continue to cooperate closely with the Vietnamese government and local stakeholders in the coming time.
