At the press conference on the Young Doctors' Journey following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health in 2024 on the afternoon of May 13, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, said: This year's journey is expected to take place nationwide from May to October with the participation of 20,000 young doctors both in person and online.

Continuing in 2023, the "Digital Transformation for Lung Health 2024" program will examine lung diseases, take X-rays, and screen for lung cancer for free for more than 100,000 people. In particular, people nationwide can screen for lung diseases and lung cancer by sending information and X-rays to the AI platform operated by the Vietnam Association of Young Physicians. It is expected that more than 1 million people will be screened for free through this new technology. Through AI support, if there are signs of cancer, officials will notify people to go to medical facilities for in-depth examination. The goal of the program is to detect diseases early for people, so that people have the opportunity to prevent and treat them early.
In addition, many large hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City also joined the journey by organizing free screening for cardiovascular diseases - kidney and kidney metabolism...
"Non-communicable diseases are getting younger and younger. Through this program, people benefit more, most importantly raising people's awareness of how to protect their health. In 2023, through free lung disease screening, the program detected a number of early cancer cases," Mr. Tu emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Youth Union affirmed: "This is the largest voluntary medical examination journey ever by young people in the medical sector, young doctors, demonstrating the spirit of volunteering for social security, with each step of the journey, going to experience, going to contribute in the journey I love my Fatherland for a healthier Vietnam".
The launching ceremony will be held on the morning of May 18 at Tran Nhan Tong walking street, Hanoi, and is expected to examine more than 2,000 people in the city who are meritorious people, policy families, people in difficult circumstances, and freelance workers with the following categories: Medical examination, basic blood test, chest X-ray, ultrasound, electrocardiogram and screening for specialized diseases.
