On June 14, Bai Dinh Pagoda organized the reception of more than 1,500 students from many localities in and outside the province to participate in the 9th summer retreat. With many practical and useful activities, the retreat promises to contribute to creating a joyful and meaningful summer for children.
The 9th summer retreat in 2023 with the theme "Returning to the source" aims to help children always know "Speak good words, do good deeds, keep a good heart". On the first day after receiving, the trainees are given badges, uniforms, arranged for meals, accommodation, and updated names.
In the following days, the students will officially begin their 5-day retreat. During this time, in addition to playing, experiencing and learning in the serene space and peaceful natural scenery of the Bai Dinh Pagoda tourist complex, the students will also participate in many exciting and meaningful cultural and sports activities.
In particular, the students also listened to lectures from the monks in the Executive Committee of the Provincial Buddhist Sangha and Bai Dinh Pagoda about: cultural traditions of filial piety, respect for grandparents, parents, relatives or sense of responsibility for oneself, family and society... In addition, the students were also trained in new lifestyles such as: sleeping on time, waking up early and exercising, not using iPads or smartphones, being vegetarian...
This is the 9th time Bai Dinh Pagoda has organized a summer retreat. Through evaluation, the summer retreats have contributed to creating a useful and interesting playground for children during the summer. More importantly, through the experiences gained during the retreats, children have a sense of independence in life; know how to control their emotions, have a good lifestyle and especially realize their responsibility towards their family and community.
