To practically celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Vietnam Poetry Day (2003 - 2025), on the morning of February 17, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association coordinated with A Phu Ly High School to organize a poetry exchange with the theme "The Fatherland flies up".
At the beginning of the exchange, artist Nguyen Van Ngan, Chairman of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, reviewed the history and significance of Vietnam Poetry Day. Vietnam Poetry Day is a festival honoring the achievements of Vietnamese poetry, held on the 15th day of the first lunar month every year. For the first time, Vietnam Poetry Day was held in the year of Quy Mui - 2003 at the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi. The 23rd Vietnam Poetry Day - At Ty 2025 with the theme "Flying up the Fatherland", aims to praise the achievements of the country, inspire life and creativity along with the great aspirations of the nation to the whole society. Artist Nguyen Van Ngan emphasized: Ha Nam's current poetry has truly contributed to enriching and diversifying the country's poetry. Honoring poetry is honoring the subtle values of culture, multiplying the good values of life, contributing to building trust and social ethics. Throughout the development of Ha Nam literature and art in general and Ha Nam poetry in particular, poetic works have always played a role in building the spiritual foundation of society, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province and making significant contributions to the development of literature and art in the province.
After the drumbeat to open the Vietnam Poetry Day 2025, teachers and students of A Phu Ly High School and poets of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association together enjoyed the poem "Nguyen Tieu" by President Ho Chi Minh, listened to the poem "Dat Nuoc" (excerpt from the epic poem Mat Duong Khat Vong) by poet Nguyen Khoa Diem and poems about the country and homeland by poets of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Along with the poetry exchange, students of A Phu Ly High School also performed many art performances with songs praising the love for the homeland and country, revolutionary songs and belief in the prosperous future of the nation.
At the end of the poetry exchange, the Principal of A Phu Ly High School said: Vietnam Poetry Day 2025 held at A Phu Ly High School is a meaningful extracurricular activity, helping students to be more proud of their homeland and country, and to better absorb and appreciate literary works. Hopefully, the Provincial Literature and Arts Association will have more sessions of organizing literary and artistic activities at the school to support teachers and students of the school to further improve the quality of comprehensive education according to new requirements.
