National online conference to deploy tasks of the Inspection sector in 2024

On the morning of December 29, in Hanoi, the Government Inspectorate held a national online conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy tasks for 2024 of the Inspectorate. Comrade Le Minh Khai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister attended and directed the conference.

Also attending the Government Inspectorate bridge were comrades: Doan Hong Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Inspector General of the Government; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; comrades Deputy Inspector General of the Government; Chief and Deputy Inspectors of central ministries, departments and branches.

Attending the conference at Ninh Binh bridge were comrade Nguyen Cao Son, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Inspectorate; Provincial Citizen Reception Committee, Chief Inspectors of departments and branches; Chief Inspectors of districts and cities.

In 2023, the Government Inspectorate has resolutely directed ministries, branches and localities to focus on synchronously implementing tasks in accordance with the spirit of resolutions and directions of the Government and the Prime Minister. Administrative agencies and inspection agencies at all levels have been flexible and resolute in leading, directing and operating the work of the Inspectorate, successfully completing assigned tasks.

In the inspection work, we have focused on speeding up the issuance of inspection conclusions; promptly implementing the Government's resolutions and the directions of the Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption at all levels; the post-inspection supervision and handling work has been given attention and achieved positive results.

The work of advising on the issuance of inspection program orientations and organizing implementation closely follows the directives, resolutions, and directions of superiors and the practical situation. Through inspection activities, violations related to money have increased by nearly 200%, recommendations for recovery to the State budget have increased by more than 600% compared to the same period in 2022; the transfer of information and case files with signs of crime to the investigation agency continues to have many positive changes. The work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations has been focused on, implemented synchronously and drastically.

The Inspectorate actively and proactively implements Resolution 623/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 7, 2022 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister on citizen reception, handling of complaints and denunciations, thereby contributing to stabilizing the security and social order situation.

The Inspectorate has focused on advising the Government to implement the 2023 work program of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity. Strengthening guidance for all levels and sectors to implement the Party and State's direction on anti-corruption and anti-negativity. Advising the Government to promulgate the National Strategy on anti-corruption and anti-negativity until 2030 and the Plan for implementing the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The work of building the sector has been focused on, especially strengthening administrative discipline, public ethics and protecting state secrets; reviewing and promulgating circulars guiding the organization and apparatus of inspection services.

At the conference, sectors and localities discussed many issues related to removing difficulties in inspection activities and set out inspection activity goals in the coming time, namely: Continuing to effectively implement the 2024 inspection plan and tasks assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister.

Proactively grasp the situation of complaints and denunciations. Strengthen State management on corruption prevention and control, effectively deploy corruption prevention solutions. Detect, handle, and focus on inspecting sensitive areas with high risk of corruption; inspect the responsibility of heads of ministries, branches, and localities in implementing laws on corruption prevention and control.

Effectively implement the National Strategy on Anti-Corruption to 2030 and the plan to implement the United Nations Convention on Anti-Corruption. Well implement the construction of a national database on asset and income control. Concluding the conference, Comrade Le Minh Khai, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister commended, acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive results that the Inspection sector has achieved in 2023.

He requested that the entire sector continue to clarify the shortcomings and limitations mentioned in the report and find solutions to overcome them in the coming time. In 2024, the Government Inspectorate and the Inspectorates of central and local ministries, branches need to focus on performing well a number of tasks: Continue to effectively implement resolutions and directions of the Government and the Prime Minister related to inspection activities. Improve the quality and effectiveness of inspection work; handle violations after inspection. Do a good job of surprise inspections. Advise Party committees and authorities at all levels to do a good job of receiving people, handling complaints and denunciations of citizens; do not let prolonged and crowded complaints and denunciations happen.

Strengthen inspection and supervision of public service activities, promptly handle to avoid overlapping and duplicate inspections. Strengthen the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity, effectively resolve difficulties in performing public duties. Control assets and income. Strengthen inspection of responsibilities of leaders. Effectively implement the development strategy of the Inspection sector until 2030. Focus on implementing the Law on Inspection and guiding documents. Improve the effectiveness of coordination in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; strive to overcome difficulties to successfully complete assigned tasks.
