The number of employed workers reached 51.4 million, an increase of 212,000 people compared to the same period last year. The unemployment rate in urban areas in the first 9 months of 2024 recorded an impressive decrease, only 2.38%, down 0.17% compared to the same period last year.

The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also submitted to the Government for promulgation Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP amending the standard level of preferential allowances for people with revolutionary contributions. Accordingly, the standard level of preferential allowances for people with revolutionary contributions increased from VND 2,055 million to VND 2,789 million, an increase of 35.7%, the highest ever. Regular allowances were paid to 1,074 million people with revolutionary contributions.

Notably, in the 2021-2024 period, the poverty rate according to multidimensional poverty standards will decrease by about 4.2% (an average decrease of about 1.05%/year); the poverty rate in poor districts will decrease by an average of over 4%/year, and the poverty rate of ethnic minority households will decrease by an average of over 3%/year.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized: The results achieved by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs are a process and the figures given in the 2024 results report are just highlights, updating what the department has been doing.
